University Dining Services provides breakfast, lunch and dinner, Monday through Friday; breakfast and lunch on Saturday; and lunch and dinner on Sunday. Students bring their ID cards to the dining room, and with one swipe of the card, they may eat freely from all of the food offerings. Students may eat in any residential dining facility that is open.
All students living on campus are required to purchase the on-campus meal plan. Meals are nontransferable to others, yet the structure assures the student ongoing availability of wholesome, hot and cold meals during the week. Should a student anticipate missing the lunchtime meal, kitchen staff will prepare bag lunches.
Included in the on-campus meal plan is $50 worth of Tetra Points. Tetra Points are debit funds that allow students the flexibility to utilize other campus eateries outside of the residential college kitchens. These venues include: the student-run Coffee House, Willy's Pub (meal plan purchases are restricted during hours of alcohol service), Sammy's, the Campus Convenience Store, Brochstein Pavilion, vending machines, and Droubi's. Additional Tetra Points can be purchased in increments of $50. This balance will carry forward from semester to semester; however, there will be no refunds or rebates on exit from the university. There is also five guest meals per semester and we encourage students to use them for Families Week.
Meals are not served during the Thanksgiving holidays, winter recess and spring holidays. Information about optional meal plans is available from Dining Services. Other services provided for students living in the colleges include assistance with special diets prescribed by a physician, and bag lunches for students who miss a meal due to schedule conflicts.
