There are many issues, both academic and nonacademic, that can arise during a students time at Rice. Sometimes things do not go as planned or external events such as illness intrude. In such cases, Rice has several resources to help students. While the appropriate resource depends on the specific situation, using a combination of resources is possible, and every effort will be made to point students in the right direction. They can speak with the dean of undergraduates, college masters or Resident Associates. The Office of Academic Advising provides general academic advice to students and can refer students to the appropriate resources. The Rice Counseling Center provides free counseling services for all students.
