Named after former U.S. Secretary of Energy Charles Duncan ’47 and his wife Anne, Duncan College will be the first LEED Gold-certified project on the Rice University campus. The college is designed to hold 324 beds and will feature a “Green Roof,” which holds soil and protects plant life. The college is being built simultaneously with McMurtry College and upon completion in the fall of 2009 will be one of the most energy-efficient buildings in Houston.
