Rice Traveling Owls invites you to take a Costa Rica adventure

traveling owls_largeThe Rice Traveling Owls invites you to discover a variety of wildlife, lush lowland rain forests and pristine beaches on our Costa Rica Family Adventure Dec. 26, 2014–Jan. 3, 2015.

Your adventure begins in the Turrialba region, where you will witness an active volcano and ride the rolling rapids of the Pejibaye River. Then, travel to the Caribbean coast to explore the still waterways and lagoons of Tortuguero, known as the home of the endangered sea turtle. Take a jungle boat expedition in search of caiman, iguanas, river turtles, lizards and poisonous dart frogs. While in Tortuguero, children who participate in this program will meet their pen pals with whom they’ve exchanged letters before the trip.

You will continue to the sunny Pacific Coast, where we comb volcanic sand beaches and zip line through treetops for an unforgettable bird’s-eye view of the rain forest. Visit Manuel Antonio National Park, a natural sanctuary for sloths, coatimundis, agoutis, white-faced and squirrel monkeys, scarlet macaws and many other species. Along the way, you will meet ordinary Costa Ricans, admirable people who honor, respect and work to maintain a harmonious relationship with nature.
