Dominant Second Half Clinches Bowl Title for Rice 

In their first bowl game in four years, the Owls thrilled fans and TV viewers across the nation with an incredible comeback victory at the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl in Fort Worth, Texas. After being down 14-7 at halftime, the team scored 26 unanswered points in the second half to beat the Air Force Falcons 33-14. What inspired the dramatic turnaround? Read more to find out.

Rice Marshall Scholar to Study Health Technology, Policy and Economics 

Rice senior Rahul Rekhi from Katy, Texas, is one of 34 students nationwide who were selected for a 2013 Marshall Scholarship. A bioengineering and economics major, he is the fifth Marshall Scholar from Rice since 2010. Learn how Rekhi’s scholarship will advance his interests in developing therapeutic technologies and international health policy.

Students Craft Their Vision for the Second Century 

As part of Rice’s Centennial Celebration in October, the Student Association established a committee tasked with creating a Student Vision for the Second Century (SV2C), modeled on President David Leebron’s own Vision for the Second Century. Feedback from nearly 1,500 students helped form their 10-point plan for sustaining and enhancing student life at Rice.
