Academic Planning and Graduation

All students benefit from contemplated, advanced  Academic Planning  that reflects their personal and educational goals. Students should plan with the General Announcements of their matriculation year which outlines rules and regulations for graduation. Even with careful planning, students typically face challenges along the way. Academic advisors are committed to helping students with academic planning and to helping students handle the challenges. In most cases, the process takes time and reflection as interests and goals continue to change. While it is helpful to converse with family, friends and peers, advanced planning at Rice typically requires communication and relationships with faculty advisors, professional staff and trained peer advisors. For an advising meeting to be productive, it is the student's responsibility to adequately prepare prior to the appointment.
